For the information of
those who haven’t seen this anime yet, this anime is the prequel of the Ga-rei
manga. So, I suggest you read the manga first if you want to proceed with the
main story.
Okay, moving on, this
anime has a good execution of the storyline. The way the storyboard was
constructed was neat. In fact, I really can’t say anything regarding plot holes
in this anime. This anime framed the main problem and its premise well despite
of its length. They didn’t rush the scenes and I can say that the show’s
direction is good. To be honest, there are some parts that disappoint me but
the direction of this series’ storyboard made up for such disappointments.
The characters are good,
interesting and well-portrayed. So far, I can say that the characterization of
this anime is good. The emotions and thoughts of most of the important characters
were expressed well despite of the limited screen time some characters have. If
there is another thing that amazed me is probably the character development of
the main characters in this anime: Kagura Tsuchimiya and Yomi Isayama. Kagura’s
character development throughout the episodes was so far the best one. Kudos to
the people behind this anime series! I also mention Yomi for being an interesting
character in this anime. She also has the best character development in the
anime and in fact, she’s my favorite.
The show didn’t waste any
more time on nonsense slice-of-life scenes because the story directly pointed
at the main problem/conflict that needs a solution.
I’m not attached to the
themes songs of this anime series but I found the opening catchy enough to
catch my attention. The background music was fairly good which helped setting
the mood in every episode.
As much as I want to say
more, this series definitely got me emotional for some reason. There are scenes
that are quite light but built intensity later on. The anime somehow got me
drawn to the characters. I will definitely read its manga to know more about
Kagura and the rest of the characters.
Scale: 9/10
