This episode has two focuses; first, about the guy who uses his supernatural ability to sell perverted photos and second is about Nao Tomori’s brother. The pacing of both sides of this episode is balanced and connection to each other however the problem of the protagonist is still not clear for this episode.
The general premise of this show is elaborating wherein the characters must stop those who abuse their abilities to avoid researchers/scientists to catch and use them as guinea pigs. The premise supports the series’ main problem however it has its pitfall due to little emphasis given to its important elements.
The emotional depth for this episode is good which makes its viewers symphatize with Tomori’s brother. This is the advantage of Maeda’s style regarding the show’s plot. Despite of these, the anime is starting to lose its focus on Yu Otosaka, the protagonist. There are lots of questions that remained unanswered regarding Yu’s character and background but the episode’s intention mainly is to show who Nao Tomori is.
As for Nao Tomori’s case, the episode left her background vague and few questions starts to bother some viewers. The episode just showed a part of her childhood but failed to establish emotional impact to some of its viewers due to limited screentime allotted to that specific part.
Since the show is still at its warm-up phase, there are few more episodes to come that I hope will give light to my unenlightened mind.
